Kloster Hornbach, Hornbach
This historic monastery in Hornbach provides a wonderful, stylish retreat close to Zweibrücken and the French border.
A former Benedictine monastery constructed in 742, it still possesses a mystic radiance and historical charm, and has been skilfully complemented by contemporary elements. The high walls and wonderful cross-vaulted arches blend perfectly with the open, oval staircase and the foyer constructed of glass and steel.
Elegant guest rooms are themed to reflect the centuries-old, cosmopolitan tradition of the monastery. For your relaxation and wellbeing, the hotel offers three restaurants and a small, lovingly furnished leisure area "BadeLust".
The hotel's unique ambience allows you to momentarily forget your everyday cares, providing the perfect environment for both holidays and concentrated work. Time stands still here, yet also flies by!
Rich, natural farmland extends from Hornbach across to the French-German border and beyond. All you need for a wonderful day out are two bicycles and one of our picnic baskets.
Wander along "St. James' Way", which leads you along the meadows of the Rhine, past yellow cornfields, colourful vegetable fields, fragrant tobacco plants and vineyards, until you reach the wonderful Palatinate Forest. You could even continue into the neighbouring Saarpfalz district.
During your stay, make sure you visit Zweibrücken, whose townscape is still shaped by the former duke’s palace, and by the squares of Herzogplatz and Alexanderplatz. In addition, Germany's largest outlet centre (15,000m²) awaits you here, offering all well-known brands and styles.
In the Bitche region, you find the "Tépacap" leisure park, where you can put your acrobatic skills to the test as you climb along various treetop tracks - fun for the whole family!
Beneath the "Nikolausturm" tower with its original sandstone arches, you find our small but refined relaxation area, "BadeLust". Beneath a starry sky, you can take a dip in our relaxation pool with massage showers and neck jets. We also offer an experience shower with lights and scents, a small sauna, a steam bath and a quiet zone.
Alternatively, you may wish to unwind in one of the deckchairs of our beautiful monastery garden.
The hotel also offers excellent conference facilities and provides the ideal setting for private parties, whether in the monastery courtyard, in the pavilion of the herb garden, or in our function rooms.
Our guest rooms and suites are generously appointed and show great attention to detail. Superior materials, design and colours lend each room and suite its own distinctive charm.
Choose from single and double rooms in either Mediterranen, Asian, Shaker or ethno style.
