Just 45 minutes from the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor, these 4-star holiday cottages are set in 15 acres of grounds on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. They have fabulous countryside views.
A former hill farm, the accommodation at Blaen-nant-y-Groes consists of a row of 4 traditional stone cottages. Each cottage has been beautifully restored and sensitively renovated. Traditional flagstone floors and bare floorboards are complemented by contemporary comforts such as under-floor heating.
Every cottage has a modern hot water system and double-glazed hardwood windows and doors. Each cottage has a real wood-burning stove to keep you cosy during the winter months. All of the cottages have private entrances and their own private barbecue areas.
Near the town of Aberdare, Blaen-nant-y-Groes Farm Cottages are 40 minutes away from Swansea and Gower, whilst Cardiff Millennium Stadium and Centre are just 30 minutes away. The surroundings also offer the ideal setting for walking, mountain biking, horse riding and golf.
The farm has direct access to a huge area of open countryside with a network of footpaths, bridleways and mountain bike trails. There is a barn which is used for cycles and other outdoor equipment.
Fresh water fishing is available locally on Nant Moel and Maerdy reservoirs, and golf at nearby Aberdare and Mountain Ash Golf Clubs. The Celtic Manor Golf Resort, host to the 2009 Ryder Cup, is 40 minutes' drive away.
The cottages are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and railway enthusiasts must visit the narrow gauge Brecon Mountain Railway.
In addition to the listed facilities, all properties have and outdoor barbeque area. A laundry room is available for washing muddy clothes and drying muddy boats and equipment.
