With a convenient location, good access to the region’s main roads and a high standard of accommodation, the Norwood makes a great base for your visit to the area. The Norwood recently received a Silver Award from the English Tourist Board for the 3rd year running.
All of the comfortable, non-smoking rooms are en suite and well equipped. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, DVD players and tea/coffee.
Free wireless internet access is available and there is free parking for guests’ use. The Norwood also offers a delicious traditional Lancashire cooked breakfast.
Norwood was built in around 1887 by a local entrepreneur named Mr Hacking, famous for the Lovelace brand of soap, with a range that included the famous Lovelace floating soap.
The current owners purchased the house in 2001 and set about refurbishing it, including the addition of en suite bathrooms to all the bedrooms. A large conservatory was added in 2002 and the buildings were extended in June 2004 and 2005. All of the rooms have also been refurbished with new furnishings, décor, carpets and modern amenities. Nevertheless, the house still retains the wonderful character of bygone times and a unique charm.
The Norwood also has a guest lounge with a large-screen TV.
All of the rooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard. Every room is bright and airy.
