The Globe Inn, Chagford
Surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Dartmoor National Park, the Globe Inn is rich in original character and traditional charm, with open fires, home-cooked food, good wines and real ales.
In the heart of the West Country, just a short walk from the very centre of Chagford, the Globe Inn offers a real traditional country atmosphere. Step back in time into the old bar with its open fire, traditional glass screen and friendly locals. The restaurant and bars offer tasty home-cooked food and the menus change regularly to reflect the best seasonal produce available locally. There are daily specials, including fresh fish.
There are 7 large en suite rooms, all of which are tastefully furnished and decorated. Most of the rooms have recently been refurbished, including new bathrooms. All rooms have TVs, towels, and complimentary toiletries. All but one room looks out over the beautiful surrounding countryside.
There is ample public parking just 50 metres away.
Chagford is set in the Dartmoor National Park, a paradise for walkers. Fernworthy Reservoir is close by, with extensive woodlands and a beautiful picnic area overlooking the lake.
Castle Drogo, a National Trust property is 10 minutes’ drive from the inn and can been seen from some of the rooms. Close to the Castle is Fingle Bridge, a magnificent gorge with the clear-running Teign River and well-signposted walks. The woods are covered in Bluebells in April/May.
The A30 is just 15 minutes’ drive away and offers easy access to Exeter (30 minutes) or Westward to Cornwall (with Padstow just 1.5 hours away).
