Arundell Arms, Lifton
With an AA 2 Rosette restaurant and 20 miles of exclusive fishing rights, the Arundell Arms is a premier country hotel. It offers luxurious accommodation and hand-made chocolates in the lounge.
The head chef, Steve Pigeon, is one of only 80 Master Chefs of Great Britain. The restaurant serves modern British cuisine and traditional puddings.
The bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style with antique furniture. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with baths, power showers and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Many have garden views.
The hotel offers fishing on the Tamar River and its tributaries. Wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout are available in season and experts are on hand who run courses and offer advice. Shooting parties with dogs are accommodated from October to January.
